Description

This Baia snorkeling tour covers the underwater archaeological park: a guided trip by boat over submerged Roman villas, mosaics and statues, with mask and fins provided.

This snorkeling tour in the underwater archaeological park of Baia puts you in the water above the remains of Roman villas. You meet your guide at the diving center, where you are given a mask and fins. A short boat ride then takes you to the site.

The water there is calm, shallow and clear. Floating on the surface, you look down at the remains of ancient Roman villas, along with mosaics, columns and statues resting just beneath you. The guide leads the group and explains the history of the park, while local fish swim among the ruins. It is open to all levels, including families, as long as you are in good health.

  • Mask and fins
  • Boat transfer to the snorkeling site
  • Authorized guide
  • Use of the diving center's changing rooms, showers and equipment storage

The whole experience takes about two and a half hours and ends back at the diving center. From there you can keep exploring Baia or rest by the coast. The park entry ticket is paid on site and is not included, and neither are food, drinks or transport to the meeting point. Children must be over 10, minors need a parent, and you must be able to swim.
