Description
This Positano, Amalfi and Ravello tour from Sorrento is a day for seeing three cliffside towns with someone who knows them. A small air-conditioned bus holds no more than 21 people and an official local guide stays with the group all day.
The bus first drives to Positano, and the guide leaves you at Amerigo Vespucci Square with a view of the beach, after a short introduction. You then have an hour to wander pebble beaches, narrow streets lined with cafes and colourful shops. A shared boat takes you along the coast to Amalfi, or a bus does when winter sea conditions rule the boat out.
In Amalfi you have two hours. You can add a boat trip along the coast, or explore on your own and see the Sant'Andrea Cathedral, which mixes Byzantine, Norman and Moorish styles. The last stop is Ravello, where an hour is enough for its streets, a gelato and the gardens of Villa Rufolo, a 13th-century villa overlooking the sea.
