Description
This Pompeii guided tour with an archaeologist is a shared group visit that begins at Piazza Esedra, where the live guide and the rest of the group gather. From there you enter a city that Vesuvius froze in an instant when it erupted in 79 AD.
The two-hour walk follows the original cobbled streets, where chariot wheels left their marks. Your guide points out the taverns where people gathered, the Forum at the heart of public life, the theatres and the villas whose frescoes kept their colours. The stories are aimed at making daily life, customs and small secrets of the ancient inhabitants easy to picture.
- Live archaeologist guide, in a shared group
- Earphones, except for some large groups
- Free time afterwards to stay in the Pompeii site until it closes
When the tour ends you can keep exploring alone, take photos and return to the places that struck you most. When booking you pick between two options: the guide with the entrance ticket included, or the guide alone, in which case you buy your own ticket beforehand and carry an original ID. Hotel pickup is not included, and the tour is not suited to people with mobility impairments.
