Description

The Natural Science Museums Center of the University of Naples was established in 1992 and consists of five museums: zoology, paleontology, mineralogy, anthropology, and the physics museum, which became part of it between 2011 and 2012.
The museums of zoology, mineralogy, and anthropology are located in the ancient Jesuit College of via Mezzocannone 8, while the paleontology museum is in the complex of San Marcellino and Festo at Largo San Marcellino, 10. The Museums Center houses over 150,000 specimens, collected since the end of the 18th century. Many of the specimens have been given suitable exhibition arrangements. Furthermore, it is worth noting the importance of the historic halls that host the museums.
