Description
If your ship docks in Naples and you want to see Pompeii without organising anything, this Pompeii shore excursion from Naples is a simple way to do it. In the morning you board an air-conditioned coach at Molo Beverello in the harbour and ride towards the archaeological site, with views of the coast along the way and your guide talking about the history of the area.
At Pompeii a guide leads a visit of about two hours through the ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You walk through the Forum, look into villas with frescoes, step inside the amphitheatre and learn how people lived here before Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD.
The guided part is followed by free time. You can wander on your own, take photos at your own pace, pick up a souvenir or sit down for a gelato. The coach then takes you back to the harbour at Molo Beverello. The whole excursion takes around four hours.
- Round-trip coach from and to the harbour
- Guided tour of Pompeii with entry to the site included
- Panoramic views of the coast
Meals, drinks and hotel pick-up are not included. Expect a moderate amount of walking, so wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen, and bring water. The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments. The guide speaks English or Spanish.
