Description
This Mount Vesuvius tour from Naples puts you on top of an active volcano in about four hours. A bus takes you from Naples to Herculaneum, where your skip-the-line entry for the volcano is ready, so there is no waiting at the ticket office.
The path to the summit is a pleasant walk. You pass Mediterranean plants and the scent of broom flowers, and with every turn the panorama over Naples and the Sorrento Coast opens up. At the top you see the Grand Cone, the great cone of the volcano.
