Description
This cooking class in a Sorrento garden starts among the vegetable beds rather than in a kitchen. Your host, O' Masto, runs a private garden a short walk from the centre of town, and the organic vegetables grown there end up in your dishes. Pick-up from your hotel or a central point in town is included.
A homemade Limoncello Spritz and artisan bruschetta open the visit. A stroll through the garden follows, with basil and tomatoes to smell and see growing. Then O' Masto teaches the secrets of Sorrento cooking with handmade gnocchi, eggplant parmigiana and tiramisu, made with extra-virgin olive oil and local ingredients. Depending on availability, you can swap in ravioli, tagliatelle or meatballs.
A playful challenge comes next. When the cooking is done, O' Masto hands a local gift to whoever best captures Sorrento's flavours. Then everyone sits under the trees for a lunch or dinner of the dishes you made.
- Wine, water, Coca-Cola and house limoncello
- A digital recipe book to cook the dishes again at home
- Round-trip shuttle from Sorrento
The class runs about two and a half hours. Tell the hosts in advance about allergies or dietary needs, and they will adapt the menu where they can. It is held in English and Italian.
